This role oversees center operations, licensing compliance, staff development, enrollment growth, family engagement, and educational quality. Site Directors are responsible for building high-performing teams and ensuring children, families, and staff experience excellence every day. Qualified candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, supervisory experience, and prior leadership experience within a licensed childcare, educational, camp, or enrichment setting. Candidates with strong knowledge of Maryland licensing regulations, curriculum implementation, staff development, and enrollment management are encouraged to apply.

Smart Steps Childcare is seeking a dependable, organized, and child-focused Preschool Cook to join our DREAM Team. This important role supports the health and wellness of our students by preparing nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with USDA food program guidelines and Maryland childcare licensing standards. If you enjoy creating healthy meals, maintaining an organized kitchen, and contributing to a positive environment for children, we’d love to hear from you. Qualified candidates should have at least 1–2 years of food service experience, knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices, and experience with inventory management, ordering, and portion control. Experience working in a childcare center, school cafeteria, healthcare facility, or institutional kitchen is strongly preferred. This full-time position is Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM, with occasional flexibility for school events and activities.

This position is ideal for a professional who enjoys creating systems, tracking projects, coordinating communication, and helping a growing organization operate efficiently. Candidates should possess at least 3 years of experience in executive support, operations, project coordination, or administrative leadership. Experience in education, childcare, nonprofit, or human services environments is strongly preferred.
